Our planet is increasing the temperature . The last 10 years have been the warmest since records have and scientists announce that in the future will be even more hot . Most experts agree that human beings have a direct impact on this warming process known as greenhouse effect.
This process is a natural condition ósfera the world atm. Some gases and vapors water, carbon dioxide and methane are called greenhouse gases because they are responsible for trapping heat the sun in the lower layers of the atmosphere . Without them, land would freeze and nothing could survive in it.
If we take the increased carbon dioxide, the scientific research indicate that, apparently, the amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide would have been stable for centuries in a 260 ppm (parts per million). In the past 100 years, this gas in the atmosphere has risen to 350 ppm because of the indiscriminate use of fossil fuels (coal, oil and its derivatives). The significance of the change is to cause an increase in global temperatures.
carbon dioxide tends to prevent the cooling of the earth , usually absorbing the radiation it emits and escape into outer space. As the heat that escapes is smaller, the planet's global temperature increases.
As the planet's temperature rises, polar ice caps melt. In addition, the heat of the sun when it comes to the poles, is reflected back into space. Due to melting ice caps, the lower the amount of heat that is reflected, which will cause the Earth to warm even more. Rising global temperatures will cause more water to evaporate from the oceans causing more warming, known as leverage effect, changing the climate that affect the natural vegetation, crops and will have serious effects on the environment . All this would cause a huge impact on human civilization.
The global warming is certainly one of the problems most important international environmental agenda: A U.S. Pentagon document, issued in February 2004, warns the president of U.S. that Abrupt and sudden climatic changes, especially for the gases generated pollutants released by industries could bring the planet to the brink of anarchy and the nuclear war to the difficulties in promoting basic supplies increasingly difficult to procure. The
Threat eclipse global stability, by far, the problem of terrorism . The unrest and conflict will be endemic features of life . The
report was commissioned by influential adviser Defense Pentagon, someone who has had a considerable influence on the thinking U.S. military over the past three decades. The Bush administration is beginning to be attacked by manipulate science to suit its agenda policy and thus silencing studies that do not like.
If it is true that the planet is engulfed in a process febrile alters all natural systems, it is also true that the Argentina will fit the general law.
Increased rainfall and droughts, increased maximum and average temperatures, coastal land loss and saltwater intrusion in their water resources are some of the phenomena that climate models can predict the coming decades.
Translated into reality, these parameters have disturbing implications. With respect to Argentina, there is no doubt that its territory, arid and semiarid in more than 50% of its extension , suffer the consequences of increased temperature and melting of glaciers and continental ice . Changes in the distribution and intensity of rainfall and increased drought due to increased evapotranspiration, impose restrictions on agriculture , particularly the problems resulting from changes in precipitation.
Extrapolations indicate that production of soybean would increase by 13% to 41% of corn be reduced to between 0% and 18%, while wheat and sunflower could reach from increases of 10% to 16% reductions. Moreover, a model developed by NASA places Argentina as a country whose total agricultural production could increase between 2 and 5 percent.
But the situation in the more arid regions such as Patagonia and the Midwest (Cuyo), depend on future water availability. IPCC assessments show that most Andean glaciers tend to disappear by 2100, while the Patagonian glaciers will continue until I entered the XXII, therefore water availability in these regions will depend on future rain and snow .
Unless we change our course and we just pause to let the elapsed time will be more hated than any other generation ever. Future generations will know that we were aware of the dangerous explosive growth of our species, loss of biodiversity , global warming, the pollution of the seas, the air and land, thinning of the ozone layer . can see we had more than enough information to understand that caused the problems we needed to solutions, and see with equal clarity that we fail to act with strength enough to save Earth. And we hate you for that ... because we have changed our comfort for his future.
