In Costa Rica there are no general labeling requirements, except for foods that require English label containing the following information: product name, list of ingredients in order of quantity, nutritional content, name and address of importer, expiration date and weight. Chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, veterinary preparations, vaccines, poisonous substances, mouthwashes and pharmaceuticals also require special labeling.
